Inclusive Design

SCAD Partnered with Google Inclusive design team to research, create and develop an internal campaign to educate, train, and inspired Google’s staff on designing for inclusivity.

In 10 weeks, 15 Students, and 2 professors, all from different majors and cultural background, were challenged to create a campaign from research to execution with the promised that good design is inclusive, considering empathy, not sympathy, and must benefit everyone, which means designing products and platforms that can be used, and resonate with people of all races, abilities, socio-economic backgrounds and education.
With the creative direction of Andres Galeano (Professor of digital media) and the exceptional knowledge of art history Holy Goldstein (Professor of Art History), to the students were able to successfully shaped the REACH ME, campaign into a powerful, inspiring movement that captivated Google Executives.

REACH ME

ReachMe is the campaign and the movement that will inspire Google designers to design for inclusivity. The campaign focuses on giving a voice and a platform for the unheard stories through  "REACHME HUB", that will become the largest video library for google designer to go to, hear their stories and finally "REACH OUT" to learn more from them, with this initiative the unhear population are encouraged to share their stories, because they will be hear by Google designers, and Google designer will be also inspired to develop google products that are truly inclusive.

"REACH ME EVERYDAY" it's a plug-in that will be install in all google designers home page that will be connected to the reach me HUB, but also will bring positive message and pro tips for inclusivity to the implementation of quizzes, flash cards, and collection cards. One day will be something new and something that will spark inclusivity everyday at every stage of the design.
